How to plant grapes
Once the variety of vines to be implanted has been identified, we proceed with planting. It must be taken into account, in addition to the good ventilation and sunshine of the plant, that the vine needs space, therefore each stem will be spaced at least 2 - 3 meters apart. The vine lives many years, even a hundred, so it is good to foresee this particular. The best time to plant grapes is from October to May. It is necessary to dig a hole of about 50 cm, which allows the roots to position themselves well. In the hole any stones and roots must be eliminated and soil improved by compound manure and planting soil must be added. The screw must be positioned in the hole so that the grafting point is just above the ground; fill the hole with soil, if necessary mixed with other planting soil, and press well. Around the stem it is better to create a small basin which will be watered abundantly. If you plant in the fall, tuck the earth around the graft point, covering it, to protect it from frost.
